    Having problems cranking my 30V V6...

    It's a Passat, but same difference, right? My wife's 30V V6 does not want to crank cold. I have to tap the gas a few times while cranking it in order to get it to stay running. Otherwise it stumbles and dies. It seems like it's having a fuel issue, like it's not getting enough fuel until I give it extra with the pedal. After the initial start (from cold) and letting it idle for a few minutes it will run, drive and re-crank fine.

    I'm thinking either the fuel pump or fuel filter... any ideas? Anything else to help identify the problem? I have run fuel injector and fuel system cleaner through the system and am still having the same problem.

    not sure waht its called on an audi but there are idle up valves on alot of cars that keep the idle high and run a little rich to warm the car up faster,

    i'd go ahead and replace the fuel filter as its a relatively cheap and easy part to replace. then go from there.

    Not battery... plenty of power, picked up fuel filter otw home today. Will put on tomorrow and report back...
