    Vag-com remote window mod??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I did the vag-com remote window mod recently and noticed that right after I did it I the light in my glove box no longer worked. I just wanted to see if this was normal before I went and bought a new bulb. I realize a bulb is only a couple bucks but its free to just ask the question first before trying to change anything.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

Could also be a fuse, but theres no correlation between vag-com and the glove box light going out.

If you open your passenger side door there is a cover on the side of the dash (like the fuse cover on the drivers side). Pop this off and you will be able to see the little mechanism that attaches to the right side glove box hinge. The mechanism is responsible for letting the glove box door down slowly and also has connections that act like a switch for the glove box light.

It could be possible that the connections are bad or the mechanism has become disconnected in some way.

If this checks out good a would still disconnect the mechanism and not have a glove box light anyway. Form my experiences I believe it is the reason people have the right side hinge break due to the added stress it puts on the hinge.
