    Frozen fold-in mirrors

We had some icy snow last night (just enough to need the scraper), I made sure that I cleaned away the ice and snow from around the mirror(and hinge), but when I tried to open them, they were stuck. I was finally able to open them after about a half hour of driving. Is this a common problem, hope not, I live in the city and fold them everytime I park. I tried searching but cam up with nothing.

moving parts are going to freeze in the winter like anything else. May want to carry a de-icing spray to avoid damaging the motors in the mirrors.

That safe to spray in there often, and also would it damage the paint around there?

Do our cars have heated mirrors, and if they do, would it help thaw out the folding mechanism if I let the car warm up longer?

Might be. The can would tell you whether or not it was safe for paint. I'd be surprised if it wasn't. How often are the mirrors frozen over? Maybe just leave them out on super cold/icy nights?

Heated mirrors are part of the cold weather package

Yeah that was the problem, I didn't expect it to freeze last night, I just thought we would get a dusting of snow.

Not sure if I have the cold weather package, I have front heated seats, but not rear. Do the heated mirrors have that symbol on them (kinda like the rear window defroster symbol)?
