Good Roads?

What are some of your favorite drives/roads on the island?
I havent been able to much because of a back injury, but now im ready to hit the road. Post your favorites please.

I think the pali highway would kick ass if I could go autobahn on it. BUt after getting one ticket there for going just a scant 10mph over, I don't go there anymore.

The road that goes past hanauma bay, and around the corner past that lighthouse is ok.

I'm sure people who know better than me have better road knowledge.

tantalus. just dont zoom through though...there are neighborhoods and kids/bicyclists on the roads.

^^Bro Ill trade you, I kind of hate it hear. Well hard coming from Vegas to BI. But I drive saddle road a few times a week in the company work van. They repaved a lot of it already. I have only to the S two times up there. Good times but suspension I am running is a little to soft for me. In the Van I can catch most people coming back to hilo through the turns. ANd that van is loaded with tools and crap,lol. Its fun as long as you stay with in you limits. We used to ship our bikes up to BI long time ago when I was living on Oahu.

At the risk of setting up a trap here goes...makeshift track...H2 townbound, take waipahu/waianae cutoff head towards waipahu, hit Kam WOT for 1.8 mile take PC cutoff quick left/right, take H2 onramp at speed WOT for another 1/8 mile, "cruise uphill" depending on traffic, take either Mauka offramp or Leilehua GC offramp two quick lefts then WOT 1/8 mile depending on mood do over again...no scenery, but at least 8 turns round trip..remember don't drive over the speed limit... good for making sure the DRC handles properly.....oh BTW the other drives mentioned are nice drives too....

No joke there. The things I could do back home . The first chance I get. I want to send my car to the Big Island. The roads there unreal compared to here. Kinda pissed they are postponing the launch of the super ferry to go there.

Yea man, I miss it there. I used to commute from Hilo to Kona 4 days a week and Saddle road was good fun to drive!

I usually can open it up on the H-3 Ewa bound or Likelike Kaneohe bound. 9 times out of 10 there aren't any cops to ruin the adrenline rush.

H-1 Waianae bound. Between Kunia Road and Kapolei/Makakilo exit. WOT for the entire stretch. I hit the limiter a couple times in my S its got some nice turns to it and then a downhill. On a week night around 3-4am is a good time. Minimal traffic.

Other good drives I enjoy are snake road. I don't know the real name of it. It runs parallel to Kam Hwy heading towards North Shore. Its got some nice twists and turns to it but every once in awhile there is a cop in the tree line.

The road that goes past blowhole is nice as well.

If Saddle Rd could be repaved completely and 4 lanes wide each way that would be insane. As it is right now going from Kona side to PTA is shitty as can be. PTA to Hilo is nice now though.

Kona side saddle road should be done not to long time from now. Cant wait.
