ok, i know im probably getting annoying with all these questions, but im not very experienced with all this stuff...anyways, how hard would it be to install the 14816 magnaflow quad mufflers...obviously i would buy one for each side...(or two for each side lol, whatever you wana call it) would it be the same install as magnaflow 14851's ? and how much of a hassle would it be to cut in to my stock rear bumper? its most likely that im getting an s4 rear before i do this, so how much of a deal would it be to cut in to any rear?

i did search, for a while actually, and there have not been questions that have been answered on my previous questions, this is the first question that you could say that could have been answered. i searched quad tips, and have found nothing but pictures, and people saying how cool they look and the cutting the bumper. nothing on the install.

Installation of a muffler involves cutting out the original muffler and welding the new one in place. In the case of a dual tip muffler you would then need to cut the bumper.

exhaust is exhaust, you're going to cut off your mufflers and weld these ones on right? If you saw that thread why'd you ask about cutting into the bumper? haha I don't know what you have for tools or what your modification abilities are but cutting out the bumper can not be hard

You do this constantly, you ask for advice on things that have been answered, you are then asked to search but complain so we give you an answer and then you get an attitude?

Doesn't make sense if you ask me...

    Re: quad tips...

WOW, I have found my new Exhaust! Those quads are sexy as hell... BUT before i can fully commit how do they sound? i want it to be real deep just like the magnaflow full kit minus the center muffler/res. I came from a C4 'Vette, so drone is no problem. Can someone verify 100% that it's not ricey?

what doesnt make sense to me is, why are you complaining...you guys are the ones with the attitude..you guys answer my questions yeah, but not before bitching and complaining about it...if its such a hassle, then dont do it...not to mention, you found me a link to something i had already found....so i do search before i look.....i was looking for more input on how peoples experiences were with cutting the bumper...some people dont see the threads and dont answer, which is why im asking again..also, i was asking more if this was something i could do, or if someone such as a mechanic could do...i just want more info on the topic that hasnt been answered...

    Re: quad tips...

ill be nice cause i was once you not knowing shit...

    1) dont say "you guys take this website too seriously"
why because we do.. and why do we do that? because when my car is broken on the side of the road, i have people from audizine asking me forhelp and willing to meet me to help me fix my car... when my turbo blew clint (audi a420t) came out and swapped my turbo and what did i pay him? a pie of pizza and some lemonade... thats why we take this site seriously. when people like dougyfresh, 400HPa4 and all these guys PM you their numbers to go out of htier way to help you. so we take this site seriously because we are a ll a family just tryna reach a goal..... makin a heavy car fast =)

2)I know what you about searching and not finding but then you feel dumb when someon else finds it for you.. it happens. take it with ease. people only citizise and get made because we go on during work looking for fun topics to read but we see things like this that are not only boring but repeated questions

    3) to install quad mufflers...same thing as intalling single.. you cut and weld (dont forget to take out your resonator... and if you have to ask what it is.. dont owrry just tell that to the shop who will be installing it for you) and as far as the bumper.. just ask the shop who is doing it to cut it for you (the body shop) or even the welding shop.... thats my suggestions.

    4) I know you are getting mad and frustrated but listen this is a forum. not your high school conselors office. people are assholes here.. but the same people... will PM you with their numbers to help if you blow something up. so trust me when i say it.. take the comments with a grain of salt and laught it out. cause if you act like the hop hopin boy from new york and act tough on the forums? well thats not going to get you anywhere. might work with the kid with the taped up glasses at lunch.. but not on here.. cause we are all tough on the internet you can say.. but when you need someones help they arent going to help...

so my tip.. just be nice and open.. and we do take this site seriously.. why? because i have a presentation for work and a 6 page paper for school due this week.. and i am sitting on audizine browsing the forums.

    Re: quad tips...

For Quad tip muffler install, the mufflers themselves will need to be moved inward, centering the outer tip in the old single arch exhaust cutout. You will need to redo/fab/modify the rear piping from the rear axle back inorder to both center the mufflers upon a new origin as well as set the angles of the mufflers and tips. FYI, they are very tight on the spare tire well after being moved in, I occasionally get some noise/vibration from them hitting the tire well, especially after I pulled the mufflers tight up in the bumper. I also removed the heat shield thats normally there for a few mm of extra clearance

Regarding sound, 14815/816's will not sound any different than the single tip setups others do, its the same muffler can, just a different tip configuration

My exhaust is quite a bit louder with the bigger turbo than a stock turbo but here's a vid of my car with a 3" DP, Neuspeed catback (including the Neuspeed center muffler), and Magndflow 14816's. (** In boost the wastegate is externally dumped, thats not normal unless you have an external wastegate dump)

Since that vid I threw all the Neuspeed remains in the garbage and now have full 3" turbo back to the rear axle, 2.5" splits into the 14816's (no center muffler) and it is a good 20-30% louder than in the vid

    Re: quad tips...

if ur going to cut ur bumper have a body shop do it, because when u cut the bumper u pull off the paint so it should technically be painted, u can run tips if u want but u have to push the muffler back for that since the mufflers sit so close to the bumper there is no space to weld tips without having them stick out.
