I have a VAG-COM and i was wondering if there is an way to shut off the alerts like when your keys are in and the door is open and no seat belt beeps. They are really annoying like everyone knows. Thank you.

    Re: Getting rid of alerts

i agree with you these chimes are a bit ridiculous and annoying... however the only info i found on removing them was for b7 and b8... not sure if they work for b6, if anyone here can chime in (wokka wokka wokka) on this matter i'd appreciate it.

    Disable Seatbelt Chime

    * Module 17 (Instruments), recode to ###Z1, where:

    Z = Warning Type
    0 – Disabled
1 – Europe NCAP – Visual indicator always on, audio chime for 91 seconds active
2 – USA & Canada NAR Old – Visual indicator & audio chime for 6 seconds at startup
3 – USA & Canada NAR New – Visual indicator on, audio chime every 30 seconds
4 – Europe NCAP including front passenger seat
5 – USA & Canada NAR Old including front passenger seat
6 – USA & Canada NAR New including front passenger seat (North American B7 default)

NOTE - All Module 17 recodes can be combined and done together. e.g. To do both above, recode to ??#Z1

    Re: Getting rid of alerts

I don't remember the exact codeing but that looks right for the B6. I turned my seat belt chime and several other things off in VAG as well

And lastly for the grammar police that are bound to step in
I came here from Germany in the 6th grade. I could not read or write a lick of English. I am working to get better. Thanks and sorry. I always try to edit my posts for the best grammar and easiest reading.

    Re: Getting rid of alerts

there's a thread called '$20 ebay VAGCOM cable' or something like that

in it, the author outlines all the codes

there's another guy who posted the codes farther down the thread...those worked for me.

The three things I did were

    1. seatbelt chime diable
    2. change lighting settings to 'EURO' lights
    3. automate remote windows/sunroof close/open with key fob (close up windows/roof while you walk away after locking...or open all the windows as you approach on a sunny day to let some heat out before you step in
