Is there a product on the market that you can use to buff out or fill in the pits in a front windshield? is this something you can have done at the local glass dealer?

    Re: pitted windshield

My father and I have used several different systems with mixed outcomes. From what we have experienced, the entire process is very, very delicate (RPM, pressure, angle, compound amount, ambient temperature, etc.) regardless of the kit. You can get a great looking result after a whole lot of time and patience, but can easily destroy the windshield at the same time with severe swirls. We finally were able to get the windshield to the point we wanted to, but it took a lot of money, time, aggravation, and energy to get it to that point. All in all, getting a professional to polish the glass would have been the better solution for my particular situation, but my father and I are sticklers on doing everything ourselves on everything.
