How to get there

Directions to Alki Beach Boat Launch from I5
-Take the W Seattle Br. exit
-Take the Avalon Way/Harbor Ave exit
-Turn right at Harbor Ave SW
-Destination will be on the right in 1.6 miles

The will be plenty of parking for the amount of cars we had. Last meet on October 18th there were roughly 200 cars in attendance, lets make this even bigger!!!

i just tried to check this out, got to the boat launch at about 1:45 and there was no one, not even one car. I am assuming it got kicked out of that spot since there were a bunch of cars aimlessly cruising around the area like myself

Being a head member of NWM and a liaison between AZ/NWM, I sincerely wish to apologize to everyone that came out for this today and the mishaps that occurred. I thank everyone for dealing with our multiple location changes, and promise EVERYONE that our next multi-forum meet will be much better especially within the planning department. I just wish to make clear, that if you did go to the XXX location after the Eastgate Park and Ride, please clean up after yourselves. I am not saying that members of AZ were the individuals who left their garbage behind in the parking spots, but am just making a statement to everyone, as it is our own responsibility for cleaning up after ourselves and having a safe environment for everyone to enjoy and discuss what we car enthusiasts do.

Our next meet is officially on March 29th, 2009 at XXX Burger in Issaquah. This meet has been sanctioned by XXX (presuming they're not too angry with the garbage we left behind today) so will not have to worry about the sudden changes in locations. I am also currently planning a drive to Blaine, WA so that people from Canada can also make it down and it'll be an over night event where we will leave in the morning (2-3 hour drive) and just relax up at Blaine with fellow car enthusiasts. All information will be posted soon.

Once again, I just wish to apologize for all the mishap that occurred today, and thank everyone that came out/stuck around with the multiple location changes.

P.S. NWM will be making specific multi-forum guidelines now so that we can have a clean and safe event.

As for what exactly occured:

Alki 12:20 -- people start showing up
Alki 12:30 -- 30-50 cars already at alki
Alki 12:40 -- probably 100 cars here already, cop rolls in...
Alki 12:50 -- cop starts telling 150 cars to move or they'll be towed cause they're in special spots
Alki 1:00 (official start time) -- lots of people head to Eastgate P&R
Eastgate 1:40 -- countless cars on the top floor, the floor below starts filling up
Eastgate 2:00 -- cops say all the cars PARKED in the P&R are a LIABILITY. We are given 10 minutes to leave
Eastgate 2:20 -- cars continue to leave single-file, getting the word that the meet is now at XXX root beer
Eastgate 2:30 -- Everyone is now on the way to XXX
XXX 3:00 -- Tons of cars. nuff said.

Wow, was posting to say spot some cars on my drive up that i think was going to the meet and i read this. Eh... poor planning but i think the pigs were all out this weekend anyway to get people. It was bad!

I didnt go to the meet but was driving up and when i hit Sea-Tec saw 4 RSX and a Blue R32 all together, knew they were heading for the meet @ Alki. It was around 12:10pm when i spotted them and next to them. Then when i went to Bellevue to checkin, saw alot of cars on top Fl of Eastgate P&R and thought wow, there are alot of car meets today and pigs everywhere (@ least 8 on the drive up). Got stuck a bit with BMWs and Hondas etc since they all seem to dont know where to go and were on wrong side of the rd.... (looks like thats when it was moved to XXX). Thats gd the final spot everybody was able to stay~
