3076r TAPP guys: How much timing are you guys running at cruise?

So I changed my map to a bit more conservative timing for WOT but whats the consensus on the good amount of timing to run for economy driving while still being safe?

Heres a log just cruising and a WOT log. I'm having an issue where it leans out at 2300 that I'm trying to figure out too.

Don't mind the lambda reading. I've been having some issues getting my lC-1 coordinated with the IIC ECU correctly.

3076r TAPP guys: post up some logs if you have any of your BTDC timing.

On my standalone map, I think its 30-35 across the board... You're up there

alright so I'm not going crazy then lol. How does my WOT timing look?

Pretty fucking low... Mine was tuned conservatively at 11* at peak torque area and then a max of around 16* being ramped in after it... You might be so retarded to where you're EGT's might be up there...

Re: 3076r TAPP guys: How much timing are you guys running at cruise?

Yeah I really need to get my EGT gauge installed.

Theres already a bung in my downpipe from the guy I got the downpipe from so I think I might just you that instead of drilling a new hole in the header.

I'm planning on heading to a dyno next weekend to get everything dialed in right. Then do a race gas tune while I'm there also : ). See what this thing could do with some 110 octane.

When you say peak torque does that mean 5200rpm or where ever your turbo hits full boost?

Yea, a lil over 5200rpms is the estimate... The tuner I'm using has tuned the worlds most powerful gasoline powered MK4, and he's pretty familiar with 35R's and their torque curve

dont mean to derail this thread...when looking at these logs, is the more advance timing better or worse?

Re: 3076r TAPP guys: How much timing are you guys running at cruise?

More advanced timing Will in general get better mileage and make more power. Too much timing will eventually lead to detonation and loss of power so its really a "in moderation" subject. Timing also varies with the thermal effeciency of the motor/turbo setup which is why I was asking for numbers from people with a similiar set up as mine.

That is about what I have (on 93octane) and around 30deg off boost (<4,000rpm)
