Without getting completely Char-broiled. F1 mirrors on a slammed B5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im just thinking out loud here. I cant decide if they would look good at all on a slammed B5. With the right mounting plate, on a tinted B5, I think they would look "OK".

Thoughts? My mirrors are starting to get a brown film between the glass and reflective tint and its driving me nuts.

I don't think you could pull those with the kind of body style we have.

You should be a leader, not a follower. So the opinion that really matters is yours. I think it'll look nice if your car was full carbon fiber ;p

I think they would look amazing on a black Avant with tint and some BBS Reps.

If I had an Avant I would have already done it. Maybe not with real expensive CF ones at first just to make sure I like them lol.

i dont know how they would look, i seen them on an is300 and they were hot... the b5 might be able to pull them off if the color and theme is just right.

I think they would look great as long as they arent TOO long, as in, when there on the car, if they stick out like big ears then it would look doofy. but as long as their not to long they would look dope...

    photoshop anyone?

I was playing with the idea of picking up a set to test on my Rx7. I ebay searched em and guess what $17.

Cant beat that to see if you like the look.

wtf? 17? wow man. please, please, try'em out for the RX7 and the A4 so i can know how they look! That would be a hell of an upgrade if they look good.

Side note...i would hope they fold flat. right? that would be a pain in the azz for a car cover owner like me.

Uhhhh because I cant picture it fully I would rather buy the $17 mirrors to see if I like the look/ functionality of the mirrors before spend $200 on Carbon fiber F1 mirrors.

I just think that a mildly modded car can better pull off the Mirrors, dont you?

Might look good on a Vadered car but then you wouldn't see them much at all. If something has to disappear to look good then buying it for aesthetic reasons is questionable.

Yeah, he can be a leader with those mirrors -- but he isn't going to have any followers. Maybe he's cool with that. if that is the case, go for it. I don't think those mirrors would compliment the body style nor would they enhance your vision.

Ok, the carbon fiber ones looked good, but no freakin way on the silver ones. Dont think they would look good at all, way to bright. Try the carbon fiber! Audi = Never follow!

I run cup mirrors on my A4. I had to shave then in because of a nasty gap in the design of them.

    In my humble opinion . . .

    . . . F1 mirrors belong on F1 cars.

I see a lot of guys spending a lot of money to go faster, or to look like they can go faster, when the reality is that the best money you can spend is on the Bondurant School. Car control and understanding the basics are much more useful than inane add-on carbon fibre doo-hickeys . . .

F1 mirrors on a street Audi are, to me, as tacky as an adjustable wing on the back of a Neon . . .

exactly... spend your money else where. From a design standpoint, the edges on the mirrors are way too sharp compared to the edges on our cars.
