Just fogs

Is there a way I can turn just my fogs on while driving I have a 01 2.7 I looked around and read about using vag com but I was not to clear on this

There is a DIY somewhere on how to re wire something behind the headlight swich

Actually its a jumper in the fuse box. Not safe but there is a DIY. Keep a searching...

I read more on the vagcom and if I switch to Canadian mode I can use just fogs but does this change anything else in the car

I think that only works on the A4's. If you have a C5 A6 the only way is the fuse route. Trust me I have looked into this.

hey 2 slow, isnt there two options.. to re route something in the fuse box, and the number B option is to splice into wires behind the lights switch? i know i did the wire splice AND the vag com in my a4, but i thought i read somewhere that the c5s you could just do the wire splice...

^ I did not come across that one when I was looking for the C5 so I dont know if that will work or not. Seems like a way better option that thatn the fuse situation considering some people melted stuff.

^ Yeah, do some more searching on the 'tap' method. Even Boston Driver does not have his installed anymore.

hey when u do try it, and if you can't pull thee light switch out when u turn and pull it.. take ur fuse panel cover off and u shshould be able to pushsh it out through there

My mechanic just wired fogs with parking lights. I'll ask to cofirm it was that simple (though I did have fuse issue today, presumably unrelated after months of driving with fog mod in place).

I pulled out the right-angle fuse tap fog mod becuase I run them al the time, and they cannot handle the load. Either the wire itself got crispy, or the plastic housing that holds the fuse melted.

I now use the method where a wire is cut in the headlight switch and tapped into another wire. I will post a few upadted pics of this for the folks with a C5 platform car.

just got around to doing this mod and it came out pretty good i did the splice behind the switch and also at the same time i was having a problem with my hid fogs coming on with out one shutting off and i had o turn the fogs on and off o get both on well after this mod for some reason i dont have to cycle on and off any more

12000k not what i wanted at all just never got around to changing them i wanted a color like purple or pink just to stand out at night

WELL THIS GUY WITH THE RS4 WHEELS HAS 3000K FOGS AND OUR CARS LOOK ALOT ALIKE WITH OUT ME HAVING TO ADD TO IT LOL

FWIW - PIAA 55W Ion Yellow fogs are 2500K. PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow

hmm.. i found a set of slvania silverstar 55 watt fogs at my local autozone.. maybe ill try them

Silverstars suck...yellow luminx bulbs are the best bet for golden yellow but I have a set of 3000k hids and they are yellow, just not that golden...

just wanted to say love this mod use it alot looks great but for some reason my hid ballast went bad in one of my fogs dont know why i hope it did not go bad because of this mod i cant see what it could of done but it all just could of been a Q winky dink ummmmm lol

1 ballast? sounds unrelated (not like the left or right side parking, and side markers and fogs going out altogether)
