Guys Help!!! Engine knocking car running very rough, no acceler

on my way to work this morning, I hit the gas in 5th at about 80, right away check engine is blinking, car is running very rough and barely accelerating all the way there, shaking too. Popped the hood, engine is making a knocking sound and seems like its struggling to run. I did a visual inspection and it all seems fine, what the hell happened? I change coilpacks all the time and this ain't it... This fucking car!

Are you sure its not a coilpack? It could be more than one going bad at the same time.

i know you said you change coils all the time, but maybe you blew 2. i had 2 go out and it felt like what you describe, way worse than when only 1 failed. i am now running the Beru coils for a skoda, i got them off of ebay europe, they have been flawless for 10k miles and about a year and a half.

I'd love for it to be a coilpack, I had all 4 go before and 1-2. Has never been this bad + the knocks :\

tomorrow yes, the wait will be tough though. Thinking about using a dif car to head to the dealer for coils now, coilpacks are becoming another car payment

Coil packs would be the obvious answer but if any of the check valves in your vacuum system are leaking or if your suction pump has split it will run very much the same. Try pulling the dipstick out when the car is running. If there is a large vacuum trying to pull the stick back into the sump than it isn't a coil pack, its an internal vacuum leak. Just another option.

Oh, that's some good info. Im sure i got a vacuum leak, i would try that today. thanks.
