    Burst oil filter...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I think i need to start driving the car like a normal person, things keep breaking.
Had to put a new filter on this morning, thanks to the old one looking like this:

It's made by a local company, so it's no surprise that the quality is bad.

I found a MANN oil filter that is about 3 times as large as the filter currently being used. Any thoughts...?

I replaced it with the MANN W 940/66. It's almost double the size of this other one. They did have an even bigger one, i'm wondering if i shouldn't have gone for the bigger one instead.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Will try and find a place that stocks the Mobil 1 filters here. If not, i'll order some online. Got my next service in 800km anyway.

    Re: Burst oil filter...

I always use the Mann filters (larger). I do not know the model number for it, but I have a couple in storage . When they run out, I am going to switch to the Amsoil filters .

I do not know if the place I order mine from delivers to SA. But if they do, here is the link http://www.germanfilters.com/

Thanks for the link! I haven't been able to find a single place in SA that stocks the Mobil 1 filters. Might have to stick with the MANN ones.

    Re: Burst oil filter...

MANN, WIX or Mobil 1 Filter's for me. I noticed my oil pressure seemed more consistent with the MANN than the others. Don't waste you money on a K&N oil filter, there's no difference between the other three I listed.

Got the MANN in there now, and the oil pressure is definately better. Car seems to be more responsive as well. Could be my imagination though.
