Chipped guys how much boost are you running?

Whats up guys, i was under the impression that most chips were 1 bar 14.7 psi with the giac x chip being more, i think 1.3 bar. I have a dahlback chip on my 2000 and i think its a 1 bar chip and my gauge shows 12psi but thats because my piece of shit autometer gauge sits in vaccum when the car is off so im guessing im boosting around 1 bar. so i was wondering how much psi you guys were running and if you have increased your boost, how have you done it ? I have heard that MBC and EBC's screw up how the boost comes on, is this true? thanks guys \

also how much boost do you guys loose when its say 55 degrees out?

i think the dahlback software for the 2001's are 1.3 bar, but does the type of N75 valve effect boost that greatly? and what is the stock N75 valve ?

The maf should be metering the incoming air so it should be safe, you can get an overboost code and go into limp mode though. Small gains in horsepower usually below 50 chp can be compesated for by the maf. 5 psi on a ko3 isn't much difference in hp but sometimes is enough to get the overboost code, some people have gotten an overboost code from the n75 race valve.

like 10 in 3rd, 12 in 4th.. Did a boost leak test, only heard the oil bubbling. The vacuum lines are all intact and it can't be my DV.

It seems like my throttle cable has a lot of slack in it though... i am thinking my throttle plate might not be opening all the way at WOT.. Need to meet up with somebody who has VAG COM

99' AEB with APR91:

Hold 16ish in 1st and 2nd and 3,4,5th gears 17-18ish with N75Race combined with a Hyperboost valve.

when I had my Ko3 on I had a MBC set to what I thought to be about 18psi on UNI software but never saw that because of boost leaks and then once i fixed my boost leak it hit about 20 and then the next day my turbo took a dump on me.

18psi spike and would taper to 6-7psi at redline. Added in a MBC I spike 18, hold 16-17 (depending on heat soak, ambient temps, etc) and taper to 10psi at redline.

Unitronic Stage 1+, Forge 007, turbo back exhaust, ... Modded airbox? Does that count for anything?

Yes, I had it tuned for N75k, intake, and larger dp/exhaust.

eurodyne stage 1... autobahn tip, n75 race, 007 dv, bkr7e plugs, 1st 2nd 3rd spike 21 hold 17 or 18, 4th and 5th spike 21 and hold it. i love this flash just aggresive enough stay dead even with r32 that runs 14.4 until 5th. fmic and exhaust this week nd mbc well see how that goes.

i have a 2001 dont think its chipped with a testpipe, running 16 psi some times in 3rd gear. and holds other times its 14 then the odd days it will be bout 10psi

when you do a pressure test how much do you guys fill the system? at 10 psi on my gauge the TIP is ballooning to the point that it makes me feel like its going to rip. do you guys continue pumping air in there or what?

And so if i just change my N75 to a more agressive one, will i get more boost? or do i need to get a MBC?

i got SpeedTuning 1.3bar chip. software is screwed up but when it was running i was moving, spiking 19 holding 17. im getting it knocked down to 1.1 cause the 1.3 needs work. and i can throw an mbc on and easily get to 22+

IIRC from last time I logged...I'm running a peak of 17-18psi (depending on temp). Tapers down to 9-10psi at 6500...but anyone on K03 has no business winding it out that far (when I auto-x I"m shifting at 5750 or there abouts). I'm running 50/50 water/meth injection on APR's 100oct tune....scoots pretty good for what it is (k03+quattro)

ive been watching these posts & obviously there alot for people with KO3's & the boost levels seems are high. wish i had a MBC with my KO3. not to thred jack but what are the average boost for people with KO4.......TIA

If I am not mistaken, I think the max boost levels for a k04-15 is 25 psi (safe). And even though I peak ~22psi, I don't go around driving WOT all day, so I usually hit ~15psi max when I feel like moving. But when I feel like driving spirited, I enjoy the extra boost. I just wish at times I had at least a GT28r.

Nope. Just a Forge 007 dv. So, no need for an mbc. People get MBCs usually to add more boost (which I do not need) or to even out surging issues (which I also do not encounter snce I have a Forge dv with the yellow spring). I would conjectire a person whom has a k03 vs a k03s to boost a little less, but this is just a conjecture.
