No parking lights, they only come on when i use the turn signals

I've seen some guys with the A4 do this mod with vag com. I tried it with my cheap ebay cable and it didn't work, I also tried it with my friends full vag com from rosstech still nothing. I pulled out the repair manual to find the wiring diagram for the headlights. My plan was to run a wire from the side makers directly to the parking light wire @ the headlight and then cut the parking light wire going back to the car. I then found that the headlight had a seperate wire for the park light and the turn signal so I simply just cut the parklight wire and that was it.

Can you put it back together if needed? Or do you think there is another way to do this?

Can you please send me the diagram I have a 2002 so let me know if its the same.

I just did not run bulbs for the longest time. Recently I got the crome ones but I hate when they are lit with the lights.

phew, i have that.....take the turn bulb assembly out, you will see 3 naked contacts, one of the for ground, one for city lights , one for turns, find one for city, put the el. tape over it and put it back in, DONE :D

its illegal in new york to do that i do beleive im pretty sure you have to have those lights on as well as the head lights.. im hopin that my headlights with the clear corner mod will pass inspection, a buddy of mine did it with his s10 and put amber bulbs in the outlet, got pulled over and the cop gave him a ticket because you have to have the amber lense and a clear bulb, not a clear lense and an amber bulb.. dont ask me what the difference is lol but hey he showed me the ticket, i also found out its "illegal" to have your fog lights on without your headlights on in this lovley state??

That's funny, I didn't know that. They are plenty of guys here in NYC that use they fogs as DRL. My old lexus was like that also. But if I need them on to pass inspection I can put them back together because I put a quick connect on the ends.

thats true!!.. i also drove around at dusk or during the day with just my fogs on, knock on wood, never had a problem, i just read it online the other day that its "illegal"

Thanx, yeah its a stock 2000 housing with 10000k aftermarket HID kit.

Hey 2.slow, i did not have a chaNCE to take it apart it yet, how i did it was,i took it apart the same as will change the turn signal bulb, and take the bulb out, then, you will see 3 connections, you can find a gound one easy if you look closelly, it will go from the inside wall to outside, knowing that, now you only have 2 connections open, if you have ur headlight out, then just the tape over any and turn it on, and you will know if you did it right, dont worry it wont burn any wires! that's how i did it, pretty much with the process of illimination, even if you start with putting tape over every of 3 it should not take that much time. I hope it will help you. If you have any el. backround it will be easy:)
