First of all you will need to take the 6 screws from the compressor and the 6 from the turbine housings and expose the old CHRA:
Notice how these GT's are different from the old T-series backplates, take a close look at the snap ring:
You wouldn't be able to tell it from the front, SC61 style:
Grab yourself a new CHRA, Garrett sells them all balanced and ready to pop in:
New CHRA out of the box:
Pop the Snap ring out so that you can use it in the new turbo, check out the ring and backplate here:
Put the backplate on top of the Compressor housing, gently drop the CHRA in there and apply the ring and you're ready to bolt on the housings:
Retail on any GT30R CHRA including the 3082 ( -14) is more than $1000, be friendly to whoever you bought the turbo from and he might just give you a break on the new CHRA.
In the end you have yourself a unit that's ready to go at it.
