Well the weekend just keeps getting worse...

Yesterday i was on a cruise with a couple of buddies. A piece of concrete was laying in the middle of the road. By the time i saw it come out from under my buddys car it was too late. Hit the tire pretty hard and this is the result...

Since i got a flat on the same place a week prior at a rally i had to have the car flatbedded back to my house. I give Audi Roadside an A++++++ for the customer support...

I used audi's jack today to lift the car up and take the wheel off. During all of this the jack failed and my car almost ended up on the floor. Luckily i had another jack (didnt use this i nthe first place because its took high to get under my lowered car) right there to get it back up. The stock jack put a nice little hole through the lower side skirt of my car. It also put a nice nick in the rear door blade.

Is there any chance that Audi will cover the repairs on the skirt and blade due to the jack failure? There was no negligence on our part, the jack was positioned properly on a flat concrete garage floor.

And thats my weekend so far...

Damn, dude. Sorry to hear about it. If I were you I'd probably get out a bottle of Jack and go to town.

sorry to hear that, also good luck getting the wheel bearing replaced under CPO with a modified suspension

audi will not warranty the ramifications of their jack either

ha. the cause and solution to all life's problems. i hear you on the shitty audi jack, mine failed on my old S4, nearly severing my hand, and f'ing up my side skirt as well. at that point my car was out of warranty so i didn't bother pursuing it. sorry to hear of your woes man

After looking at the wheel and suspension it looks like its the axle or cv boot that caused the grease to spew everything instead of a wheel bearing...

I had to change a tire on the side of the road due to a flat one time and I was very uncomfortable with the jack provided with the car. Its very flimsy looking and I can easily see how it would fail. I'm surprised they didnt provide a more sturdy jack due to the cars weight and price...

Sorry for your bad luck. I've used the stock jack 2 times now, and it's worked perfectly each time. I think you first have to start any jack using operation by pretending that you are German, look at the ground, the type of the surface you are using, the angle of the surface, drink a litre of beer, eat a sausage, and then think about how you would perfectly put the jack in place before doing it.

I've used it on concrete and on the side of the road in dirt without a hitch. I have to say it sure looks funky when in action and if you had it slightly off to an angle it will surely collapse.

Mine nearly failed on my B6 S4 in my garage. It did however, put a gash on my side skirt. That jack is unusable.

I have also been screwed by the fine engineering of the Audi jack. It was on my old USP, big gash in the side skirt. That thing is such a POS!

did they change the jack for the B7? I have a 2007 S4, and am wondering if I should throw that P.O.S. in the trash in favour of a better one?

About a month ago my jack on my b5 s4 failed me while I was changing a flat and my car went right down onto the rotor about. Messed up my dust shield which doesn't really work anyways lol. At least the jack was stuck under it's skirt when it went down so it didn't hit the rotor too hard.

Well it didnt turn out to be as bad as it was. The CV boot was not cracked or broken. The Axle was not busted either. We believe the impact was so hard on the CV boot that it let all of that grease out. A good friend of mine hooked me up with a few tires so i am set with them. Just need to pick up another spare wheel now and ill be good.

Huge Huge props to Sami at Elite Motors. As always he took care of me with the best service out there. If any of you are from the tri-state and you have a problem with your car please give him a call. www.elitemotorsnj.com
