for those who have used aircraft stripper.

after sanding one of my sportecs took nearly 2 hours, i decided to go out and get some aircraft stripper since thats what ive read a lot of people use with success. i braught my wheels outside, sprayed it on and let it sit for about 30 minutes. when i went back to scrape/wash it off the stuff barely did anything. a few spots have the clear coat peeling a bit but nothing to the extent of what i need to refinish the wheels. if what gives? is there something im missing?

i dont like strippers. you have a chance if it is not cleaned properly for the paint to peal off later down the road. ive seen whole cars peal because of that. the best way is to always scuff by hand. ive done bbs which are a real pain so im sure the sportecs can be done. a little elbow grease never hurt anyone, just think if you went somewhere itd be 80$+ per wheel to be redone

just gotta sack up and sand. Get an attachment for your power drill if you have one. It took me almost five hours to get mine ready for primer.

I used it on a set of brake calipers I bought used. It removed 90% of the old honda racer yellow they were painted. It was MESSY and a pain to rinse it all off to repaint, but cut my sanding down by ALOT.

If I could do it again I'd find someplace to sandblast them for free/cheap.
