sounds like it could be the flapper. if its still under warranty then take it in and let them fix it.

i had p2004 and p2008 which is the intake runner codes come up on my daily focus. It was a little square piece that sat under the intake manifold. had a couple vacuum lines and elctrical connector on it.

this prolly dont help ya but im sure its some solinoid near the intake manifold that needs looked at

out of warranty by 3k miles.. go figure.. I found a guy who has one of those flapper motors that he is selling but I don't know if that is what I need or not. Anyone with some ideas, please let me know.

trexturk, yeah that doesn't tell me much. The flapper motor is a sensor and motor all in one.

Take it to the dealer and get it diag'ed. Don't beat around the bush with engine codes or you'll spend more money than you will want to.

i think the reflash that came out about half a year ago had something to do with the flapper

Yes the flash was 1/2 the fix. If it shows up mechanically in the flapper then they will replace it under warranty. Just had mine done.

Yes my car has already had the reflash. The stealership wants $97 just to run the stupid CEL and tell me whats wrong. I said hell no to that, brought it over to autozone and they did it for free. So now that I know the codes, obviously they only thing left is to fix/replace whatever the problem is.. I think in this case, its that flapper motor. Like I said, I found a guy who has one for $200... sounds a bit excessive for a motor but apparently its new and the revision B part. Anyone have one that can beat that price?

I think the TSB number is 2016868/2 - if your car is still covered its a dealer fix, although they often want to charge you to scan it. However if its a warranty item the fee should be waived I expect.
