06 A8L Shrudders at stops, any idea?

Just yesterday I came to a stop and I can feel all of a sudden when fully stopped at a light the engine seemed to shudder and I can feel it lunging sporadically as if I'm having a misfire. Then the engine light came on, I don't have a OBD2 reader, does this sound like a coil pack went out? Oh! and it's an 05 not an 06

could be the MAF going bad, but probably the coils. Check which cylinder is having the misfire (assuming it is one) and swap coils with another cylinder - see if the misfires changes to that one.

Brought it to the dealer (Still under original warrenty till July 2009) an it was a coil pack. They are changing all of them thank god! so should be good to go! I'll be picking it up today.

Another coil pack bites the dust... I've been hearing a lot of coil packs going wrong lately:(

Yeah unfortunatly that is a common issue with the D3's. I bought one at auction for a customer, made it home, went to pull it into the shop to do the emissions test and viola...coilpack died...had to spend another 2 days driving it (what a shame) to get thre readyness monitors to set after clearing the check engine light. But as was mentioned, read the code it should show you right away which cylinder the misfire is in and if its in other cylinders as well, it will show that cylinder as well as mulitiple engine misfire.
