    Variable Valve Timing.

    So if i go with either an 058, or an 06A block.... I've decided to get the first one i come across when i go scrapyard trawling again.

    Which head would be best to look at, i see everyone saying go for the large port, i've also seen some mention of the VVT heads...

    I'm also going to be looking for a stronger gearbox, if there is anything i should be looking for, the input would be great.

    VVT is just the cam chain tesnioner. Useless so skip it. If you want to keep 1.8 then pick a block that corresponds to your stock one so it's less work that way.

    yes, VVT is pretty much useless. It's sole function is improved emissions at start up

    Oh no, we definately can't have that.

    Anything in particular i should be looking for with the head...?
    I was thinking of getting a 2.8 gearbox, will the AEB mate up without doing anything...?

    yeah you can use the 2.8 tranny, just have to use your 1.8 flywheel and clutch and swap over one of the tranny mounts.

    Excellent, can get one for about $120 here. Will go see them this week. Will need to get it reconditioned first. Most of this stuff have been sitting around for many years.
