Thumbs up Excellent service @ OpenRoad Audi on Boundary

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Okay, I just got my car back from a super minor checkup which involved less than a day of labour. They didn't charge me for anything, because the problem I worried about wasn't very sound yet. Diagnosing would be difficult @ this stage~hoisted up my car and such. Filled up my washer fluids(but they didn't fill up my tank... LOL jkjk)

My car went in really dirty, I was actually worried about how can I drive this dirty car out for the movie meet tonight LOL It was covered by a layer of those winter snow salt, dusts, bird droppings... you name it...
Then, when I go pick up the car... they didn't only washed it... they waxed it also! and they cleaned my whole interior... dashboard... armrests... just like the whole interior, even my own floor mats were taken out washed the hell down... It had those hard to clean grease mixed with sand shit... but BAM, it's just like new now.

Well, I'm sure a same dealership won't provide the best service everytime... and it also won't provide the worst service everytime... but to me... I had a good one as my very first, not required checkup :)

Re: Excellent service @ OpenRoad Audi on Boundary

Taking your car in for a checkup whenever you suspect there's a problem with your car is what warranty is for... I missed the good old time when I was able to do so, but I was still bone stock back in the days.

Waxing is something new. I always thought dealers only gave their customers' cars a quick wash after a service is performed. for OR Audi! I don't know if that's the case with OR Audi, but cleanness of your car after your key is handed back to you is part of the follow-up evaluation for the service at AoR.

no i took it in when i first got the car the rear pass door wouldnt open from inside which means an automatic fail. because i imported my car from the states. so i take it in took the half hour, then they told me we will wash it for you. so when i left my car all windows were up. after 3 coffees the parts guy comes tells me your cars done.
so i see him parking it and i look from inside at my car and see the rear window open. so he comes in d says heres your car keys. i give him the wait here. go out side totally freak i had stuff in the back compleatly soaked, pool of water on my back seat everything was soaked.

i head back and told him yeah who ever washed my fuckin car left the back window open..and i know i closed all windows before i left it. he looks at me and goes are you serious. so i follow him out and he tells me he will take care of it. another 30 min and another coffee later i got my car back. that is why there fuckups..

sorry if this is all messed im on my pda.

Had to take my other car, A4 3.0, in for coilpack replacement today (no appointment). Worked with Bob and everything was replaced under warranty within the hour. Great service from my perspective. BTW he just picked a 50yr old Auto Union DKW motorcycle in great condition - you can even see the 4 rings on the shocks. If you drop by OpenRoad Audi you might just see it in the showroom

    man that's crazy!

no appointment and they could do the replacement for you immediately?
that's sweet... i even had to wait over night to only check on reversing noises and 3rd gear synchro..

what happened to your original coilpack?

they are REALLY slow there right now, economic downturn makes people not want to service their cars.

Showroom - Bob said someone liked the idea of displaying it right there. Don't know if that will actually happen but I guess drop by and check it out.

Ref coilpack, I had the MIL on and the code showed misfire errors on cylinder #1. Since we just bought that CPO car, I suspect it might be the "detailing side effect" from the dealer cleaning the engine.

    FWIW my codes were:

    Address 01: Engine
    Control Module Part Number: 8E1 909 559 B
    Component and/or Version: 3.0L V6/5V G 0030
    Software Coding: 0013711
    Work Shop Code: WSC 06335
    2 Faults Found:
    16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
    P0300 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded
    16685 - Cylinder 1: Misfire Detected
    P0301 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded

I've always heard the opposite. Usually people service the cars they have rather than buying a new one in hard times...

I guess what MacDaddy meant was that people would more likely go to independent shops or DIY than take their cars to the dealerships for service
