    My car is now RWD

    Accidentally...

Long story short, I had a balding summer tire blow out in the rain while taking a turn from a stop sign. I was able to get teh car straightened out, only to have it whip around the other way. My passenger side impacted a curb at about 10 mph (my best guess). I drove the car the three blocks back home, steering wheel cocked 90 degrees to get it straight.

at first i thought it was the control arms, but after putting on my winter wheels so I wouldn't get a ticket for having a broken car parked on my street (Montgomery County, MD sucks like that).

While my front right wheel was in the air, i could spin it with all the other tires on the ground. Not the same case for the rear wheels.

So what do you guys think happened to my car?

BTW, my OZs didn't bend at all, just badly scuffed. I bet if they broke, none of the damage would be this bad.

If the car was in neutral you should be able to spin the wheel independently.

If the steering wheel is off center while you are driving straight, you have definitely bent something. Most likely the lower rear control arm (the curved one) or the tie rod end, if not more stuff.

Does the wheel seem to sit further toward the rear of the car than before? It will look offcenter in the wheelwell.

Your outer tie rod end is bent at the least, you will have to have the whole rt side susp checked out, The susp is not made to take a sideways impact ( even at 10 mph ) and also have the wheel spun to make sure that the wheel is not bent .

Re: My car is now RWD

yes ebrake was up when changing wheels and in neutral. as for what you could see..when the front left wheel is flush with the side of the car, the front right is cocked in about 10 degrees with some nasty negative camber...

i unfortunately don't have pics except it getting driven up the tow truck (we had to find clearance by using a bump because the car is so low). i decided this would be the first project i don't take on in 4 years because i'm working too many hours and its too damn cold.

before i replace the control arms, is there any brand or something the will fix my negative camber that came from lowering the car. I know someone will say its actually the toe but I just want to be done with the inside of my tires wearing out completely in one season.
