I have both EGTs that are bad. is there any downsides to having either EPL or VAST code them out with either one of their tunes? or is it best to just buy new EGTs and a normal tune.

    Thanks

I would highly recommend keeping your EGTs. They are there to protect the motor if exhaust temps get too high. It will tell the computer to dump fuel to cool down the engine.

We have both in our store. http://www.jhmotorsports.com/shop/ca..._56_60_100_155

You want to get those replaced. That's one of the sensors that people install to properly tune a turbo car. There's no reason to get rid of it.
Those sensors give vital feedback to the ECU on how the car is running, and will be able to help save itself from destruction, if temps get too high.

Right now your EGT's are internally shorted. So the ECU only sees one reading from the sensor. That's one of the reasons why you're only boosting 5psi.

... I know, b/c I'm the guy that worked on your car.

It should throw a code for EGTs. You may also have random mis-fire codes.

Bad EGT = Erratic Flooding (Most of the Time) = Misfires

For starters you'll have DTC's set for the EGT sensors being faulty. In the OP's case his CEL actually isn't on, or wasn't when I scanned it. You can go into the data blocks for EGT sensor output and verify the temps. The OP's case is that both are shorted and read 1035*C continuously.

    Both of them.

If I remember correctly you had an SAI code and a couple others as well. I don't have access to that info at this point. The driver's side EGT isn't that bad to get from the top, but in my experience you have to get the SAI pump out of the way. So if you replace that at the same time, it's not really any additional labor, only the cost of parts.
