So im looking at chipping my car in a month or two and im having trouble deciding on which chip to get. Im looking at MTM and GIAC. There is a place in town that does GIAC which would be the most accessible. And the MTM is a two and a half hour drive which im up for because i have read and heard that you get the most power with the MTM. Help plz

Get the chip from the closest, easiest to deal with tuner because when Audi decides to reflash your ecu back to stock do you want a 5 hour drive each time to get reflashed?

    Re: Need help with chips

As chrislane31 said, If you don't have many options around you then go with the closest one since sooner or later you may have to go back for something else regarding the chip.

    Re: Need help with chips

well, first go to giac website or mtm's to find a close retailer and go from there. As for the two, I heard good things about giac-X, and not many people have done MTM chip as opposed to others.

With giac, you can buy a flashloader and switch between stock, race, etc...not sure if mtm offers that. If you really want mtm, than go for it, I drive 45-50 min to my tuner....so whats another hr?

Not a popular choice, but I'd say Fritos.

Just had my car done with GIAC last week and it was a very nice improvement with not other mods. By next week when I have the new APR exhaust, and Carbonio intake it should be great. I may have gone with APR if I knew about the dealer sooner. Whatever you choose it is a cheap way to make big gains.

MTM. Also remember MTM will be the more reliable chip out of the 3, because it's TUV approved...
