3.2L auto only initially, guesing around $50K. I think afretes mentioned February 2009 and available for test drive earlier perhaps.

I think they're arriving in the US in the next 60 days...so you'll get them soon enough as well

they had a diesel Q5 in the 'Audi Drive Across America' earlier in the fall, so I'm reasonably sure we'll all get the Q5 3.0 TDI...probably not for another year or so. Same goes for the 2.0 TFSI wonderbox from the B8 A4/5 platform...next year in the Q5

Perhaps, but when you consider the entire lineup and a A3 3.2L DSG is in the mid $40s.....

Well, the new Mercedes-Benz GLK will be starting around 45k according to my friend who works at Mercedes. I might be looking into the GLK when the time comes.

We should be getting a demo model in early January. The rest of the Q5 should be here sometime in February. Price should be around $45 for the standard model and around $55 fully jammed. No diesel anytime soon.

However, my friend at Mercedes told me that the packages keeps on changing and won't be finalize until next year. At first they did have a Panorama Sunroof but I guess to cut cost they remove it and might have it as an options.

I don't think Audi has ever tried to be the 'low-cost provider' in the auto world

They're traditionally overpriced compared to the competition actually. Take the RS4 vs M3 vs IS-F...that's a fking embarassment pricewise, especially in Canada.

Now with that being said, the GLK is going to be more X3 sized...or Acura RDX sized.

Won't the Q5 look/feel a bit more like an RX350?

actually, amazing as it is, the q5 and tiguan do not share the same platform. the q5 sits on the a4/s5 platform. so it's really a hopped up a4 3.2 avant.

Yep, the Tiguan uses the PL/PQ48 platform from VW. It's possible that they will use the MLP platform, but not until the next Tiguan model.

I have to agree, i looked at the R8, its $142 base, and the following costs extra: hetaed seats, real leather seats (alcantara is a nicer way of saying "fake suede," wiki it), navigation, auto dimming mirrors, and a few other things. base model only comes with 3 choices of exterior colors (varying shades of the color of bodily fluids, IMO), and 1 interior color, and its underpowered for a "supercar".

or, i could go get a Astom Martin V8 vantage for $150K and get heated seats and dimming mirrors standard, more storage room, more power, real leather seats/dashboard/headliner/doors and as far as colors i can chose

-stitching color for dash/carpet and seats

The color may not be such a big deal for everyone, but i find every color options for the R8 (even the upgrade colors) look like crap, (and BMW isn't any better) Me personally, I'd rather have something that i like the way it looks rather than settle for something i can live with, and if you ask me, the Aston Martin is alot more exclusive/prestigious than a Lambo rip off full of the same parts you'll find in a $30K volkswagen.
