I need a chip!!

Any one know of a good shop to get flashed at, i know of one in Redmond, but they have a crapy reputation, screwed a buddy out if $2000
I live in kirkland, but work in Issaquah and go to school in Bellevue

Not a huge preference, id like to do APR because i drive a lot and don't need any thing crazy, no BT plans either, but a good local shop is important to me.

I heard that achtuning was under new management, ive heard people question there customer service under the old owner, but they are the closet to me

The ownership transfer you are referring to was done ~2 years ago, today's Achtuning is owned by Bill Hartmann. And as far as I know, there hasn't been any complaints about them here or on AudiWorld since he took over.

id say send it to awe and get the giac chip put in.. i say this because it works nicely in my car, and nearly 2 years after my car was chipped the soddering broke loose on it and they replaced it with an updated chip and soddered better..great service and customer satisfaction

AWEsome, however this is the type of service you should expect from any good GIAC dealer.

FWIW, most B5's and up now have chip programs Flashed onto the ECU so no soldering/encrypters to fail.

thanks for all of the replies, ive only checked out Achtuning, and Redmond European (which was closed) so far,
achtuning wanted $499 for stage 1, kinda seems like i could get bettter, but i still need to get some supporting mods first because i want to go straight to 1+
