    Replaced Brakes Today

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Went to the dealer for an oil change and to have winter wheels put on...turns out my front and rear rotors were worn pretty badly (which I noticed myself recently).

I'm leaving to drive to MI tomorrow so I had them go ahead and replace all pads and rotors...$800 for parts & labor. Did I get bent over?

If so, I'm not surprised but I don't want to worry about brakes and bad weather during a 7 hour trip. Let me know how I fared...

If it was all pads and rotors then $800 all in isn't that bad.

Sorta high... but what else can you do on short notice? Have a safe trip to MI.

My friends are coming for NYE from Manhattan - let me know how long it took you to get here.

    Re: Replaced Brakes Today

For the dealer ship I would say that's about right. They obviously are not concerned about being competitive on pricing. You payed more because it was a dealer. But in the end if you didn't know your brakes were bad and you were about to take a long holiday drive. I would say it was money well spent.
If you don't have haters, then you're not kicking enough ass.

And lastly for the grammar police that are bound to step in
I came here from Germany in the 6th grade. I could not read or write a lick of English. I am working to get better. Thanks and sorry. I always try to edit my posts for the best grammar and easiest reading.

    Re: Replaced Brakes Today

If your brakes werent pulsating or grinding, you could have made that 7hr drive easy.. its not like breaks go out like a drive belt... they gradually go out.

Have a safe trip... Not the cheapest, but I don't think you got "bent"... Brakes aren't cheap on this car..

Where at in Mi are you heading to? I grew up there and my family still lives there (god only knows why?)...

That the normal price that the dealers charge. It's expensive but no biggie. Enjoy your trip.
