I've been running BKR6E's on my chipped 1.8t for about 10k miles so far and they're still running great. I think all four ran me about $6 too

Re: NO no NO not another one

i just installed a set of 6Es gapped to .028..... nothing cheapo about them, they're legit. and i was running 7Es in the summer and they were great too.

no point in getting the gimmicky multi-zap ultra platinum iridium kind.. these work just as good if not better

i can almost guarantee a rough idle.

you may want to gap at .28

    Hmm.. We'll see what happens.

I just wanted some cheap plugs to hold me over until I can wait for some 3 electrode bosch's to come in.

Cant be worse than my idle now...

It's like 40 deg outside as well...

Re: NO no NO not another one

I ran 7e's for a while, then I changed to the 6E's. I noticed smoother power engagement with the 6E's, and I ran a better time at the track w/ them as well. Whether or not that was just the plugs fault, or I learned how to drive, I don't know.

BTW I ran both gapped at 0.028"

Spark plugs confuse the crap out of me and its probably the reason my idle is so bouncy, i should really search this

NGK's the higher the number the colder the plug. Other companies do it different.

Basically, look at the ceramic tip inside the threads of the plug. That's what determines the "heat range" of the plug. If that is "blistering white" you need a colder plug. If it's brown/nasty, it's worth trying a hotter plug.

To get an idea of the part of the plug I'm describing, here's a pic. The shorter the ceramic center the colder the plug.

Re: NO no NO not another one

Well, I put in the 7E's and my idle improved a lot. I was running the tri-electrode bosch F6TDC's.

It turns out that my N75 to wastegate actuator hose had a huge crack in it. I replaced the hose and now the car seems to be running correctly at last.

Its interesting you mentioned the plugs being blisteringly white.. 2 of the F6's I pulled out were a bit white, and the other two were brown.

    Nice.

So far the car seems to idle like a BAMF.

    I'm happy so far.
