well guys as some of you may know i went to boston to look at a 00 4.2 a6 and of course i bought it.. amazing car i love it.. jlaws (jon lawson) was the guy i bought it from and he is a true enthusiest, and all around great guy.. took excellent care of the car it looks like it came out of a showroom almost, 18 inch rs6 reps led tails a few things here n there deffinatley a huge step up from my a4 3.0, this 4.2 is a beast i will post some pics within the next few days!! thanks for the help fellas you helped me make the right decision even though i had to leave my house at 4 am and just got back at 1015 pm

and my first question for the new car lol.. it doesnt have an electronic stability package? or it does but theres no way to turn it off?

i looked for one and didnt see it.. on my a4 it was on the top left by the card holder.. ill hafta check out the owners manual tomorrow..

and another thing, 2 times on the way home the rear inside lights came on briefly and the cluster said the rear door on the drivers side was open? it was deffinatley shut lol

The door thing could be the sensor inside the door. Im suprised to hear its the rear door, usually its the front. Try and ask JLaws, maybe he knows.

Glad you made it back ok. The weather was pretty lousy in Boston, I've never driven the Audi in so much rain. It's usually sheltered
Nothing beats the feeling of driving a new car home, You got to do it for 6 hours .

I believe it did have an ESP button when I bought it. There were buttons missing when I bought it. I asked the dealer to fix it and they replaced it with a coin slot! They said the ESP will just stay on.

As far as the lights coming on. It happened once when I was driving but that was a month ago. I didn't really think anything of it. Maybe the sensor is corroded a little or rain got on it? I believe you can easily pop off the door trim to look in there.

I miss the A6 already. You were the last person I was going to deal with. After that it would have been taken off the market. I was content with just keeping it since major work was done. But you had to go ahead and buy it.

lol it was quite the drive once i actually got going, the turnpike leading up to the toll booths was crazy took me like 2 hours to like 50 -60 miles.. at 30-40 mph.. i was half tempted to see what she had when i had an idiot in an older subaru legacy fuckin with me but i just let him go, and then again with a audi tt but i was a good boy and more worried about gettin back home than risking a ticket or an accident..

Yeah, those V8 badges are busted. Find the OEM S4 V8 badges and you'll be good to go.

eh i just bought some winter wheels.. ill leave these rs6 18 reps for summer, and i may buy a set of wobble bolts if my set of mustang wheels arent too wide for the a6.. the rear tires are 275

Did you just do the 402 mod or you got somthing else there?

i did the 402 mod and its set as low as the comp would let me go, i could mod the level sensor arms to get it lower but it would ride even worse than it dose now on the low setting. im looking for and extra tank to see if i can put a eletronic dump valve to dump the air when i park but ive got more important projects to do at the moment.
