    i need your 2cents

After searching and readinng different threads i figured the problem is the coolant thermostat? but i need your 2cents just to make sure i'm doing what i'm supposed to be doing...so here is my problemo.

turn car on in the morning, no traditional high idle i would get from having a chilly night, idle goes directly to about 700-800ish, about 10seconds after i turn my car on, the fan also turns on

so i hang out for a couple of minutes and decide to drive...engine temp gauge stays at the bottom, and if it does rise it rises about 25% and goes back down again, AND i only boost about 7psi... here is the order that it happened in. temp stayed low, then about 2 weeks after 7psi, then couple days later idle and fan were jacked up.

    2cents anyone????????

My car did some of the same things yours did this week. It wouldnt to the usual high idle in the morning for the last three mornings. On the way home my car started to misfire....coil pack went out. replaced it, now its ok. hopefully tomorrow morning it will do the high idle in the morning. i know it doesnt help you too much, but maybe carry an extra coil pack just in case

the thermostat housing is electronic unlike the b5's. i would say double check your gauge (analog sweep), as well as the temperature signals going to 01 (ecu) and 17 (inst cluster). make sure they are the same.
