Production numbers? how rare are these cars?

I found some production numbers, and from what I can see these cars are pretty rare..

The last few digits after the A will tell you what number you are

I am A000155

so that makes my car #155 :)

its the 10th digit in your vin.

Also you could just as easily look at your registration.

sounds right. i see more s4 then any other car i own. probably about as many as my celica. there r more then i realized when i started driving one. and there r way more for sale then anything else i want to buy. I waited 2 years to find the perfect mr2 to get. I found an s4 i liked in a week

I wouldnt say they're rare, just sought after, since I see nogaro's all the time (especially when your looking for one to buy)

rare colors IMHO:

1. silver (Just kidding!!)
2. hibiscous red (I have never seen one)
3. pearl white
4. casa white

I don't think it's correct either. It doesn't apply for my VIN either as it exceeds the number of B5 S4's ever produced..I don't know if the last 6 digits are a sequential serial number based on production number of one model or the number as it comes off the line as a mix of all models being made at that factory.

It all depends on were in the country you are. Here in boulder every other car is an Audi, and half of those are B5 S4's. I see a Diffrent Rs4 every day, sometimes three or four, S5's, S8's, Rs6's there everywere. it makes me sick. thinking about moving, just so my car gets some more respect.

No way man!! I would love to see more sick audis around here. I went to boulder a few years ago and fell in love with boulder co. My dad and I called it the audi capital of the U.S.-there were a ton of audis everywhere, especially s4 wagons. I seriously wanted to go to school there, but didnt have the funding. Appreciate all those fine cars you get to see so often

Does anyone have an idea how many hybiscus red s4's were made between 2000-02. I've yet to see another one on any forums or in real life. Just glad that I own the most rare color on the car! The color is a real head turner because A) there just isn't anything as sexy as an S4 B) you just don't see anything like it around. Should make it more valuable in a few years I would think.

I am sure the numbers that got imported into north America
We're non sequential. So it is feasible that say for instance
The 642 sedans won't be numbered 1-642.

As there were many more produced in Europe.

Mine is 2002 black/black auto last 4# are 1527
