    Contesting Tickets in SD?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,

I'm new to the San Diego area, got pulled over last night for "unsafe lane change" which is BS b/c the cop was going like 90 and had to slow down when I changed lanes in front of him to get off the on ramp.

Anyway, do people have any luck with contesting tickets by mail here in SD? I know it's worth a shot, any suggestions?

yup, checked their website, didn't feel like paying the $25 registration fee tho... any other tips? Any idea how much an unsafe lane change citation costs? Wasn't on the ticket, will it be on the courtesy notice?

I have had several moving violations, but not the unsafe lane change. You could attempt to argue your point, but the CHP has a stronger voice than you, unless you have adequate representation.
I'd assume that your citation will cost you about $200. Don't expect to see a courtesy notice in the mail.
As for contesting it by mail, try it. You don't have much to loose, but its very easy for the courts to say your guilty, especially since you are not there in person. Worse case if they say your guilty, contest again.

    Good Luck.
