    real easy questions...

    (1) how expensive is the service at an audi dealer (when car says time to service)? i am assuming its rediculous

    (2) is changing your oil on a turbo car diff than NA?? ive read a mixtureof things and some say you need to prime the sytem before starting and some say there is no difference, do it like a NA engine.

    thanks

you are in Quincy??? hmmm, so close from me.

ok, don't ever go to an audi dealer unless you absolutely have to.
changing your oil is different than a NA car, you need to give it more care. the oil you use and the frequency you change the oil
for now, drive the hell out of your car so you blow up the engine and turbo then you have a reason to do a build, haha.

but in seriousness, changing oil is a DIY thing, it's very easy.

ok i read the write up... this looks no different to me than an NA engine. thats how i have always changed my oil. i know we need to use fully synthetic and done every 5000miles... but the acually process of changing the oil seems just like any car ive done in the past

Wow, 700, thats like shooting ur self in the foot for no reason..but in all seriousness, doing ur own oil change is very easy, the filter can be a tad bit of a challenge (ie, not spilling oil out of it) but its pretty straight forward, pull the plug, drain, wait, pull filter, plug in, new filter on, and PRESTO, add oil and ur done...i would say at most 30 min, the longest part is waitn for the oil to drain, good time for a brewski..

Re: basic newb quest... searched, but cant find answer

I would guess he meant $150 an hour, not $150 for the whole job, but i've been wrong many times before :P

^^i meant $150 for the whole job if it is a basic service if it is a major service i'd go with at least a grand in my pocket.

Re: basic newb quest... searched, but cant find answer

has anyone done the basic service?? oil changes i can do myself... not trying to say i need someone to do them for me, i was jus seeing what, if anything, extra was involved with the turbo. sounds like nothing is diff.

so question now becomes, what else do they do for service? reason i am even thinking about doing it is b/c this will be the first service since i bought it. and i didnt buy from an audi dealer. so i wouldnt mind a once over to make sure i didnt buy a car with problems

Changing the oil is the same as any other car.

As far as service at the dealer goes, prices depend on the dealer you go to. Some dealers charge a lot but others are very reasonable. My dealer here only charged me about $65 for a synthetic oil change. The only way to find out for sure is to call and ask.
