    From 1.8T MKIV Jetta to A4 1.8TQ !

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Sold my 1.8T Jetta IV last month. Owned the car 2 years but felt the need for a AWD car. So, I bought a 2002 amulet red A4 1.8T, sport pack with 40k.

At first, I notice that the car felt tighter, stiffer. Curiously, I had KW's and Fk452's on on my Jetta. I also find the OEM drop pretty decent, I'm even wondering if it could looks could with 19" wheels with that oem suspension. However how feels a B6 A4 with good coilovers cranked down ?

Second, I also noticed that I lost a lot of performance. Actually, I had Eurojet street FMIC, 3" TBE and Unitronic Stage 2 on my Jetta. But stock vs stock, my Jetta was way faster. I have thought of going Unitronic Stage 1+ to partially fix this issue.

    Any other " Must " to do on this a4 B6 ?

This is an open topic ! Discuss..

Damn did I want Beetle headrests back when I had my Jetta. Welcome to the Audi, coming for a MK4 1.8T Jetta as well, the A4 is much nicer, even though it weighs much, much more. That just means you need to do more to it!

And 19's on stock suspension, noooooooooo!!

Hey man welcome to the ZINE! I also came from a MKIV 1.8T Jetta before my B6 A4 and yes the Jetta was a little quicker, but the Audi is SUCH a nicer and way more ballin car. Your old Jetta looks NICE!

Get that 4x4 shit out of here After being dropped, I think 19's on stock suspension looks horrible, yes even yours because of the gap. And DAMN are those pics from way back when!! lol

geez and I remember the 1st time I met you in a gas station parking lot and how you liked how my rear tire sat in the wheel well and how you wanted to get spacers for you wheels to make them look like mine, and now nothing but hate

    Re: From 1.8T MKIV Jetta to A4 1.8TQ !

any inputs on suspension, wheels, exhaust and ecu programming ?

    I may go with :

    H&R or KW coilovers

    misc. 19 " wheels ( Can I go staggered ?? I have a set of 18x10 anbd 18x8.5 DZ1 laying around)

Unitronic Stage 1 or 2 software

Dont have a clue about exhaust though....dont want huge ugly tips..something classy..

I came from a MkIV Jetta 2.0, so I was pleasantly surprised with my heavy-ass luxury sedan's stock performance!

Will they fit the audi? If so i want some!

Also nice Jetta. I came from a MK3 VR6 and a 04.5 GLI. And to be honest its alot easyer to make the audi low vs. the vw. The front swaybar does not rub when its to low, The axel will not clunck if you are too low, being AWD it will still handle nice being low, but its a slow pig. lol

Coilover wise look for Stasis, KW, H&R, Eibach, Tein SS all those are good. I think the best to get tho is PSS9's because you can adjust dampening with the car on the ground.

lol I also came from MKIV 1.8T Jetta (180hp). I had Revo reflash, TBE, DV, and a lot of bolt on's, that thing was pretty fast! Faster than my K04 (with every bolt on) A4... But I prefer my audi over VW, specially going from FWD to AWD.

Who else came from MKIV 1.8T's?? lol didn't know so many had made the same move...

My recomendation for coilovers would either be Tein SS or Bilstein PSS9's. Stasis Motorsports are definitely the best but not a noticeable gain over either of the first two for normal spirited street driving

thanks everybody ! is there any issues possible due to running wider wheels in the rear on a quattro ? My DZ Exclusiv would look nice... 18x8.5 and 18x10
