Unfortunately both my front bose speakers blew out, and I had a hard time finding a replacement due to the 2 ohm bose amplifier. Fortunately I was able to find a 4" Infinity reference series speaker (Model 4022i). I picked them up from BestBuy for about $89.00.
Install:
I was able to remove the bose speakers from the mounting ring and still utilize the stock mount and rubber surround. Three of the speakers mounting tabs need to be cut shorter and you need to use some self tapping screws. Make sure to center the speaker so the rubber surround can be placed onto the mount correctly. With some
Once the speaker is mounted mark where the screw heads are, and then trim the rubber surround so it can sit flush.
Mount the speaker onto the door and use the stock wiring. ***Make sure to cut the wires that goto the stock tweeter. I cut the wire just above the female clip. The goal is to just have a positive and negative wire connected to the new speaker***
Unfortunately I was rushing to get this installed before it got to dark so I was not able to take any pictures.
Overall the speakers sound great and work perfectly with the stock Bose system.
