So i decided to do a few logs of my car and it looks like im running too much timing in the higher rpm's. How can I uploaded these logs so you guys can have a look at them? I can email you the guys the logs if you're willing to take a look at them.

Re: Running too much timing help!!

    Software? Hardware configuration?

    EBC? MBC?

I can't tell anything from just block 020 and 115. You should log block 020 and 003 together so you can get the actual timing advance curve if you are concerned with timing advance.

Considering this was today I'd say you are running too much timing advance just by looking at your correction factors.

You are also not hitting your requested boost (35psi? did I do that conversion right?).

    Setup:

    2871Elim
440cc inj-not exactly sure im assuming
    Unitronics chip
    034 HF exh manifold
    Turbosmart MBC
    Labree HFC
    APR sport exhaust.(no center resonator)

I thought I had the MBC dialed in at 20psi. I want to crank it down to ~18psi. I hope to GOD youre wrong about the conversion and my requested boost isnt that high.

Unitronic's is well known for running very aggressive timing, but the problem is that it can be too much for some cars and fine on others. This is why most of the other tuners tune using more mild amounts of timing.

Re: Running too much timing help!!

I double-checked my calculations and forgot to subtract ambient (14.5) so your requested really is around 20psi. My old file requested about 20-21psi and my block 115 shows around 2440mbar on my last log I did of that block.

Now, you can change your MBC but your requested column will stay the same. The actual column (right) will change and should reflect what your MBC is set to.

Note: The most block 115 will read is 2540mbar (including ambient) or around 22psi gauge. That doesn't mean you can't run more than 2540mbar, it just means you can't use this block for logging purposes if you're running more boost than 22psi and you are trying to deduce a boost leak and/or boost issue.

Did you let off the accelerator pedal on the 2nd log in that bundle? Looks like you got to 5600rpm and then let off the gas. Requested boost drops and lambda (block 031) goes wacko.

Overall, lambda looks okay to me.

The car is pulling a lot of timing but I don't know what the actual timing advance is since you did not log that (I like block 003 or 010. 003 adds in MAF readings) so I have no idea if this is acceptable or not. David (b6lovin') can help confirm if he sees that much timing pull in his Uni file. Every tuner tunes slightly different in this realm.

I'm guessing you've got a tank of 93octane with these logs?

Yes Im running 93 octane. Ok I will log block 003 or 010 tommorow and update. About the 2nd log yes my brother changed from 4th to 5th gear even though i specifically told him to stay in 4th and do a pull alll the way to redline.

Do you have a FMIC installed? Log intake temps as well. Timing seems to be too aggressive. You should contact unitronics about this.. Check what kind of injectors you're running as well..

    Michael

I have a FMIC and i doubt the IAT's are the issue considering how cold its been in NY as of late and yes my timing is too agressive which is why I made this thread in the first place. Already shipped my ECU off to Unitronics for the newer 630cc file.
