Why would you want to run that tire to begin with?

I'd guess no. That's a pretty tall tire for this car.

Plug it and the stock tire size (225/45/17) in here and you can see what it looks like:

Speedo will be off by 8.7%, in case you hadn't considered this.

hm, that was interesting. according to that, me running 225/40/18 makes my speedo read slow by a slim percentage.

I plugged in your numbers...I think it's safe to say 0.5% is truly negligible!

But yeah I love that tool!

Re: will this tire size work

I just put on 225/50/17 snow tires because they were cheep as balls (no one uses the size). they rub on the rear uppers, putting on 5/16 (about 7mm) spacers i got from merchants tire for $8 a pop but i had to order some longer lugs. It appears it will pull it just enough that it won't rub or won't rub for long

Re: will this tire size work

OP you're not planning on running just the one tire right?

Klum00: How's that exhaust working for you?... I run 245/45-17's too, I did it because I cracked my old 18 OZ SL's and was paraniod. In retrespect I wish I had run either a 245/40-17 or 235/45-17.

Re: will this tire size work

Nah, I was going all 4. What about a 225/50-17. Would the different between 45 to 50 make it unable to clear w/o spacers?
