I know it's been discussed before, but here it goes.

    Coilpacks and Control Arm kits.

I'm talking about 2000 ATW 1.8t that may potentially need new coilpacks. Running K04 J31 file and lately when I step on it it sounds like an M16 shooting out of the exhaust.
Spark plugs do not seem to be the issue because when I put a new set in, it takes 50-100 miles of driving for the horrible misfiring to take place again (when they are fresh, there is a hint of misfiring at high load and boost at low rpm). Which leads me to believe it's the coilpacks.
The car has 117k miles on original set.

What is the consensus for the best and cheapest place to get them at?

Control Arms: installing suspension yesterday I noticed that the uppers on the driver's side are torn. I want to get the entire front kit (with the upgraded bushings hopefully) but through searching and remembering old posts, I came to the conclusion that really no brand is good enough (some stated that their Meyle and Febi sets went bad after less than 20k mi!)

So anybody who has experience and can vouch for either one or a place to get them from, kindly let me know. Thanks!

Are your plugs gapped correctly? and control arms, you'll hear good things and bad. Honestly I would probably buy these http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...t=control+arms if I needed them. If someone didn't install them right, they can go bad quickly. If your worried get oem ones.

I hear you about OEM ones.. I mean they've lasted me 117k miles and sitll going (except the uppers and tie rod ends of course). I can't hear that stuff even about upgraded Meyle ones.

Plugs are gapped correctly. I am running the same exact setup for more than 2.5 years (nothing's changed) and always had no problems with the car.. until now.

When I take out the plugs, they appear a little wet and fouled.

yeah, the link i provided looks like a good set, i will be getting them when the time comes.s far as your coil packs, you say sounds like your mis-firing. Little wet and fouled, running rich possibly.. is there any oil on the plugs? Log the car, see what is really going on, try and narrow down the possibilities.

Bump, any more information about the control arms? Anybody have preferences, reviews, rants?
