first things first, do a compression test and possibly a leak down. then go from there.

Go ahead and buy a spare block or a whole motor to build in the meantime if you do go GT28 on stock motor.

Why? I have 100,000miles on my stock block with a 28r. Meaning my 28r has lasted over 100,000miles with the same engine.

    Re: gt28 question

If it's correctly installed and tuned, there is no reason for it to get damaged.
