PS Noise

Upon startup there is no issue but once my 3.0 warms up, after about 5 miles the ps pump starts to whine. Also the feeling in the wheel becomes a little heavier. Any ideas what's causing this? Dirty fluid?

and fluid level is fine. it has to something else.

Forgot to mention that too. My fluid level is fine, I carry extra in my trunk. Any ideas?

Your S/C belt could be slipping. Does it look glossy?

I'd turkey baster out your present fluid and replace with fresh Pentosin CHF 11S. then repeat a couple weeks later. Can't hurt.

dirty fluid, i got mine flushed at the dealer after it was making ridiculously load whining noises. works like new now.

Everyone else: What did you do with the turkey baster just remove the fluid that you can when the car is off?

Yea, I just removed the lid and pulled out everything I could and put in a glass bottle. I then put a bit of new stuff in there to "rinse" and removed that, too. I then refilled with all fresh. I repeated 2x now with about 2 months in between. Given your situation, you may want to do it every week or something.

I didn't have a problem, did it as routine maintenance.

had this problem with my vr6, never figured out the original cause, but my steering rack seals ending up blowing-$850 fix.. i would get it checked out just for peace of mind if replacing the fluid doesn't work out
