I'm not 100% on this but it is "once a year" because it's every 10k miles that they do service/oil changes. Your next scheduled service would be at 35k so that's probably why they didn't cover it.

The service covered with 06's are the main issues. 5,15,25,35,and 45k. At those services they do oil changes which they cover along with whatever else is done. Inbetween oil changes aren't covered. But the once a year "coverage" is crap. I have had both my 25 and 35k this year and they have been covered. Some people drive more so saying that they will only cover it once a year is BS.

I get my oil changed every 5k. So i pay for my oil at 20k 30k and 40k....and so forth

Oil change is covered for every 10k NOT 5k.

    Check your maintenance/warranty booklet.

The Audi maintenance schedule is mileage based (10K mile intervals) or 12 months since last factory recommended service, whichever occurs first.

As cstarky15 confirms, 5K interval oil changes are at owner's cost.
