Steering rack boot

Gang,

How tough is it to replace the rubber boot (bellows) on the steering rack? My right side is leaking.

I've done it. Both sides. Take a look at what you're about to do. There's no reason to disconnect any ball joints. Simply runout the tie-rods. Unlock the lock nuts on the tie rods and unscrew the rods from the tie rod ends.

Thanks for the tip. Should there be fluid in the boots? Or is that a sign of a bad rack seal?

Correct, would be a sign of a leak.
