WOT box owners: please chime in

I have a few questions for you.. it seems the hype about the WOT box has died down, but I've never really got a straight answer about this thing.

    1. Do you like it?
    2. Do you have 1/4 mile runs before and after?

    Thanks :)

I have one, Its a great feature. It does make your shifts a bit faster, and the 2step launch is great at the track when the other driver stages before you. On the street, its pointless.....unless you launch your car and WOT shift on your drive to work.

I'm selling mine because i'm starting to part out my car. PM me if you would like to buy it.

No doubt it's a cool feature... but did it make your car faster? :)

And why are you parting out?? what other goodies do you have for sale?

The 2step might be able to make you more consistant but it will NOT make you pull better 60 ft times then just doing a normal WOT launch unless the person driving really cant launch at all.

Without 2step I am still able to pull 1.5's in my A4 with a huge turbo. Here are 2 video's from this weekends race event.

Shake down on saturday with a 1.54 60 ft and 6.94 in the 1/8th.

    Elimination run with a 1.57, 6.8 in the 1/8 and 10.55 in the 1/4.

One of the B6 guys that tested the WOT box ended up getting better 60 ft's just doing a normal launch compared to what he could get with the WOT Box, so he stopped using it for launching.

It would come in handy if you plan on bracket racing.

    Thanks.

Here is one pulling a 1.67 even while spinning the tires all the way thru 1st gear, but was still able to pull a 10.7 at 135.6 mph.

+1 i do agree that if you know how to launch your car its unnecessary. However the WOT shifts are pretty handy and cool.

They are cool but quick normal shifts do exactly the same thing and this is because the WOT Box actual forces the engine to not produce any power/torque to drop the rpms which in the end drops boost anyway.

Now only if someone with the WOT Box would actual log their flat shifting using something that measures the changes in Gforce we could see if there really is a big difference.

i was always told that if you cant shift fast enough you shouldn't be racing. if you are running fast times, driving a nice car, you should be able to shift without lifting off the gas and it should be fast enough to not cause damage to you engine. if you cant shift fast enough i would start racing an S4. i would start with a camaro or mustang, you know, something that is a lot cheaper to fix

well there is one huge reason most people will not flat shift their S4/A4 and that is the huge chance of blowing up the engine if they miss the shift because of error or because the gear locks them out, this happens because there is NO rev limiter when there is no load on the engine. Flat shift is also harder on the syncro's and if you dont mind having to rebuild the trans all the time I guess that isn't a big issue.

I love rebuilding my trans...I guess you could almost consider it a fetish
