That TP should start at 3in and tapper down to 2.5in, not start at 2.5in and go to 3in right away...

haha! what's the point of the o2 sensor plugs?

many reasons, first being you don't want your o2 sensors dangling around in your bay do you? 2. there are people who tune your car that can disable your o2 sensors so you can have them in the pipe without getting a CEL. and 3 you can purchase a cel fix adapter, which its a mini tube that screws onto your tp where your o2 sensor would go then you screw your o2 sensor on the end of it and it resembles you having cat to trick your ecu which also doesn't give you a CEL with a tp. Plus for some reason you don't want to do any of the things I stated above they give you screw caps to plug it up.

It does start at 3inch off the turbo and coverts to a 2.5 before it ends...you must be looking at it backwards.

im not talking about the BUNGS on the TP. i know exactly what those are for and why you would retain those on this pipe. my question was, why would they put those CAPS in the bungs?

as there is no point to capping off the bungs when the first one is needed. and the second one, if you are a 2001 or newer A4, then your software generally deletes the function of the rear o2 sensor. but you still either put the sensor in the bung or some like to put a wbo2 in that bung

how am I out of my league...you asked a question which I understood it one way and tried to help you by answering it, now if you were asking a different question that I knew you were and answered the same way I did then I would of not made sense but what I got from you question was why are there bungs in the tp.

probably to keep the threads clean during shipping/welding. dont want it warping or getting nicked and having to be sent back. or also pressure testing to check the welds

That's some bad designing then because my 3inch tp bolts on to the turbo then tampers down to 2.5 connecting to the flex pipe. I thought it was the same as this one

for when you are running a sub 3" exhaust. the tapered transition between 3" and 2.5" on this tp will decrease turbulence in the exhaust system. promoting flow.

where as with something like the ATP full 3" tp bolted to a 2.25" Borla will leave a 1.125" step all around the flange between the tp and dp. lots of turbulence created from that

and a ko3/ko4 car does not need full 3" exhaust..
