VAG modifications for fuel gauge sensitivity

So I STFAs and I couldn't find anything on it. I also couldn't find anything on Ross-Tech. Are there and VAG adjustments to change the sensitivity of the low fuel warning light and the fuel meter?

If I fill up right as I get to 0 miles remaining and my needle on E, I put in about 13.4 gallons. With a 16.4 gallon tank that means I should still have at least 60 miles remaining.

I've got a buddy with an S4 and his gauge is more accurate. At 0 miles remaining he's putting in 15.5 gallons.

Anyone know any VAG recodes I can set to make this adjustment?

    Thanks.

I read in the manual that we have a 2 or 3 gallon reserve, maybe that is the case, i dont ever really recall having to put more than 13 gallons in either and i fill up when the light tells me to

I drive 20 miles past 0. I put in a consistent 14.5-15 gallons after that.

There is an adaptation you can do for the trip computer to read more accurately. Also, fuel sender problems are common on these cars. My car goes DEEP into the red before I have to fill up, usually never more than 15 gallons.

Yeah...... I filled up my car the other night. Parked it for about 3/4 hours, start it and i had 3/4 of a tank. Start driving and it goes to a gallon under full. PITA.

when mine started doing that I had to change the sending unit within a week(this was on my A4.. but it's the same part numbers). The wire that connects the bobber to the electric sender that makes contact with the circuit board is completly un-protected and is very thin, mine was severed when I removed it. Luckily, it was extremely easy to change. Just makes sure when you replace it (not *if* lol) that the bober has free movement from any wires, otherwise you'll be back in your tank re-routing because you have a full tank but are reading 1/2 full.

I have run mine with the fuel guage reading 0 miles till empty several times without problem. then the other day my guage says 5 miles till empty and she dies on the side of the road out of gas.

I just fill her up when the light comes on now. not worth the risk.
