    hey there younger brothers.
my buddy has an 05 1.8t sport with a symphony II, non bose. i mentioned the audi nav double din screen to him, is there a compatable model with his car? (canadian car, btw)

hes looking for plug and play, and he wants to retain the phatnoise/ipod hardwire option if possible. also, any chance the nav. system is xm/sirius ready?

    TIA

edit: basically i need the part number for RNS-E for a 2005

    info and pics please...

and there is a part list on AZ, but many are euro models, and none show direct plug and play with the 05.

if you have one, which one is it, and what was required?

Converting to the RNS-D is a little more complicated, but it can be done. I don't know all the details on the particulars, but audiforum.us has all the info you need.
The RNS-E is quite easy to get working with only a few harnesses needed.

    8E0 035 192 CX is the RNS-E part number.

In order to make it plug-and-play you have to have three things:

    Symphony to RNS-E Harness:

    Diversity radio antenna adapter:

AND either a third party GPS antenna OR a Fakra extension cable to wire up the sharkfin antenna already on the roof (if you have one):

All of these things can be bought from KufaTec.com

the letters following the 9 digit part number, can they be anything else, or would other apps. not be as user friendly/plug n play?

Yea, they can be different. That one just represents the most up to date firmware.
