    2009 A4 MPG Question

I have a 09 A4 2.0T Avant with 1000 miles on it thus far. I am getting 16-17.5 MPG with 80:20 City/Highway driving. Nowhere near the 22-30 on the sticker. I also have driven this mainly in non-sport mode to see if I can increase the mileage. How much can be attributed to the car not being broken in? If this is the case so why does MPG increase with mileage on the car? Thanks in advance.

    Re: 2009 A4 MPG Question

on my first tank of gas.. i got 27... i now average 23. i'm at 4000 miles and sure hope i start to get better MPG after my first oil change in 1000 miles. however it is winter, so crappy MPGs!

i drive it like an old man. i have other toys to go fast in. but i must say i do get on it once in a while, very rare to go in S mode though.

    cheers... rocco

    Re: 2009 A4 MPG Question

27 on first tank! I have been driving very conservative to see if it is just my driving style. It does not seem to make much difference. I have not even seen 18mpg per tank yet.

    Re: 2009 A4 MPG Question

3000 miles and pretty much what the window sticker says. I do drive in Smode quite a bit since this is the way I have the individual preference in drive select set up. Has gone down a bit now that it is cold here.

That said, would the cold weather and break-in period account for such numbers?
