Just got a new RS4

Guys,

I have been a lurker for a few years and I finally moved out of the subaru world into Audi. First I wanted to say hi! I also wanted to see if any of the other rs4 owners in the city are on here.

I got a used 07 rs4 yesterday and I already have a ton of questions. I will try to add some pictures later.

Any help on the following would be great

1) service shop in SF CA (non dealer, I read the dealer thread)
- Looks like rector is the dealer of choice since i have Audi care
2) I am a little worried the dealer i picked it up at didn't do the 30k service, what is that going to set me back (oil light came on)
- Getting a free oil change and taking it in soon for my 35k service under audi care
3) the ash tray slider only goes half back!!! Any ideas?
- to expensive to take stereo out to get coins so it will stay broken
4) No navigation DVD but I already found the torrent and I am going to try a burn first but its the 07 version not 08
- the torrent worked and updated software to 07 no more accept message every time
5) how do i plug my iphone 3g in or at least listen to it (what should i buy)
- this seems like a lost cause, i can live with a few 4 gig card in the car
6) Does Audi have service included?

If you just bought it, I would take it back and talk with your salesperson. He might be able to help you get most of those things sorted out.

I didn't buy it at a Audi dealer so they could not answer all that jazz.

In order to qualify for included service, the original purchaser of the vehicle had to buy Audi care. I'm sure you could find out by either contacting the original dealership that sold the car, or Audi of America.

Also, if your service isn't covered, the 30k service will probably set ya back a few hunskie if done through a dealership.

Thanks to silly people my leather has been Armor Alled and my leather is very slippery. Does anyone know if i can recondition it or do all Audi's have slippery leather.

Thats really sad don't let those people touch your car ever again, leather is not supposed to be shiny or slippery. get yourself some leatherique (http://www.leatherique.com/) and recondition the leather asap, then you'll know how clean and healthy leather is supposed to feel. You're in SF if you want to try it before you buy I'm sure i have some left over that you can test see if you like it.

About the ash tray I would first check make sure theres no loose change that fell behind it. I'm pretty sure thats your problem.

Yeah, I could almost promise you there is some loose change behind there. Happens all the time, people treat it like a change holder. Shouldn't b e too hard to clear it out yourself.

If your oil light is on, check your levels; I know other B7's burn oil like its gas. My dad drives an '08 A6, and had the low oil indicator on for months before he decided to top it off. I'm not sure if an RS4 uses the same as the A6, but his takes 5w40 full synthetic. Go buy a quart or two of oil, and put one of 'em in if its low (keep the other one for later). If that doesn't help, take it to Rector - I've only ever heard great things about that place.

Put some oil in that thing asap!
The engine will burn through oil at an alarming rate. Just check it often and add oil as necessary. I use Castrol Syntec 5w-40.

I don't like the idea of leaving my car with the dealer, so I avoid it as much as possible. Besides, I've already voided most of my warranty with mods, lol.

Planning to modify the car any? Simple things like coilovers and sways make a big difference in the car's handling. Plus, if you think the car sounds nice now, wait until you put an exhaust system on...w o w.

I'm located close to Rector Audi. Maybe we can meet up sometime and you can see what I've done to mine.

Oh, I use Apple Brand leather cleaner and conditioner on my interior. Same stuff I use on all my natural leather accessories outside the car. Works really well. You can buy it online.

I had the 35k service done a few miles early at rector because i have Audi care. It was a great experience, I also put some new brakes on it.

As for mods, I think i am going to hold off. I am scared to see your car, i might like it to much but i guess i can't pass up hearing what it sounds like.
