    SSR Comps vs. Flix Justice

Most of you guys already know this but for those that dont: I was runnin 18 inch Flik Justice rims on T1Rs all summer. I just swapped for 17 inch SSR Comps with Michelin Alpins and I cant believe how much better the car rides. That unsprung weight makes such a difference. Stay away from boat anchors..FYI

I road on 19x8.5" LM Reps with 235 tires and I still blew the doors off of other stage 3's.

I am sure it would have been worse had I been on my SL's.

Re: SSR Comps vs. Flix Justice

What do you mean--"can't believe how much better the car rides"? If you mean a smoother ride, sure should--you have a taller softer sidewall now. If you mean nimbler handling, it may feel that way, but in moderate temperatures, on a road course, slalom, whatever, the Flik's with T1r's will obliterate the SSR/winter tire combo. If you mean the car feels quicker, it probably isn't, but the ability to spin the tires more easily may make you believe that your car is quicker, but it isn't significantly so. The difference in weight of those wheels makes less than a tenth of a second in the quarter mile, probably--there are other much more significant factors...

put both tires/wheel combos on a scale.

    you will be unpleasantly surprised.

What offset and brakes? Spacers? I just picked up a set, w/et45 and am in the process of figuring out what spacers I need.

On the topic of this thread, more tire sidewall always rides smoother...

I had to run an 8mm spacer to clear b5 s4 front brakes. So I ran them on all four corners, but they will rub with 235's tires; depending on how low you are.

    Did they rub front? Back?

Did your 8mm spacers have hubcentric shoulders on them? If not, did you have vibration probs? What brand?

I traded for them with another AZ member. They have a couple of bends and need some love from the wheel reconditioning people. I'd sell them for $1k plus shipping if you're interested.

the difference is in the rotating weight of the wheel not the overall weight of the car
